Dr. Jennifer Nelson is a gentle caregiver that believes spending time with her patients and building relationships is of the utmost importance. Dr. Nelson believes that your dental health is extremely important and understands that investing the time to investigate and explain all treatment options is essential for her patients.
Dr. Nelson's professional and kind manner has developed over her long history within the dental profession. Her father is a retired dentist and Dr. Nelson actually began her career working by his side. While Dr. Nelson worked in her father's dental practice she also earned her Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene. She then practiced dental hygiene for about five years prior to graduating from the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry, with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Dr. Nelson is constantly involved in continuing education programs because she believes continuing education is extremely important in keeping up-to-date with the cutting edge technological advancements within the dental profession. That is why Dr. Nelson is committed to earning her Fellowship and Mastership in General Dentistry through the Academy of General Dentistry's NewEngland Master Track program.
Dr. Nelson is also recognized within her profession and community as a dentist with a promising career. In 2008, Dr. Nelson was voted as one of the “Ten under Ten”, by the Massachusetts Dental Society. This is a designation given by The Massachusetts Dental Society Standing Committee who selects ten dentists who have been out of dental school for 10 years or less, and who are making a significant contribution to the profession of dentistry, their community, and/or organized dentistry. Nelson Family Dental has also been recognized as the "Best Dental Practice in Attleboro" by the Sun Chronicle Newspaper for both 2010 and 2011!
Dr. Nelson has successfully supplemented her dental practice with memberships in the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, the American Orthodontic Society and Dr. Nelson holds a position on the board of the Nantucket Dental Society.
Dr. Nelson is also committed to providing dental educational programs throughout the city of Attleboro, including Sturdy Hospital, and has also volunteered as a part-time dental school instructor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston.
